Common Questions

Why did you start BOX=ART?

Even with the many excellent sites about box art and video game art, their has been little dedicated to the artists involved and how box art has evolved over the years.  It is a site for them and a constantly updated place of reference to the history of box art.  For more info read the WELCOME page

Where do you get your box art photos from?

All box arts on BOX=ART (but not necessarily banner pictures) are endeavoured to be owed by myself.  The reason for this is so I can produce the best quality scans for BOX=ART at the the sizes desired.  All scans are watermark free out of respect to the original artist and to allow people viewing BOX=ART access to quality scans.

How often do you update BOX=ART?

As often two baby girls allow!

Can my site be affiliated with BOX=ART?

I am at present considering affiliation from all corners of the gaming and art world. Let me know what your site is about and we’ll go from their.

There’s a broken link/ typo?

Please let us know if you come across any problems with the site.  We pride ourselves on the quality of what you are viewing including what’s written.

Why do some of your scans not have the artists name attached?

Being a reference site means that content has to be as correct as possible.  If I can’t find enough evidence to the box arts creator then it stays unknown until I do.   At the same time being as factual as possible, BOX=ART is also filled with my opinions and understandings, which has allowed for the creative writing you will find on it.

Can I help contribute to the writings on BOX=ART?

At present all writing will be done in house but who knows about the future?  If though you have access to artist information, I would love to hear from you and if used, you will be duly acknowledged on BOX=ART.
